Religious Nuts Exposed: God Bless America (2012)

Awarded to the Westboro Baptist Church

The Westboro Baptist Church (or WBC) is an Independent Baptist “church” known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, other religions, and anything else that tickles their fancy. They are also known for their greatly offensive protest activities against fallen service men/woman and high profile aka popular people. In this special section, we will explore their hateful and distorted “divine” teachings and expose them for what they truly are, a hate group who uses religion for personal power.

So, I was planning to take a break from How the WBC Fails series to take time to write about other things in my life, most importantly my faith. I really want to take the time and write about the many wonderful things my faith has gifted to me. I want to write about how it opened my eyes and calmed my mind. I want to write about how the God and Goddess has helped me so. While many others may see Paganism as of the devil, we who are actually informed, see our faith, our religion, our heart, as joining with the natural world and coming to terms with ourselves. Yes I know it's a run on sentence, but I really don't care :) For the most part, this is still the case. Ramblings of a Pagan Guy: Light and dark is sitting in my draft section ready to be finished. However, I just had to point Firefox over to twitter (and Facebook). As anyone with a desk job can tell you, this is disastrous.

A how to guide to kill the WBC! Wut?

The picture above is was sparked my interest and ultimately this posting. Shirley, along with other female members of her "church", preached about a Jewish video that taught America's how to murder the WBC. While many, myself included, would call their religious and political views extreme, making a movie for the purposes of "Idiot's Guide to killing WBC"... is a bit much. I was also curious that it was Jewish in nature. You would think a people who have suffered A LOT would turn their nose to such actions. The video in question is the trailer for a new fictional movie is called  God Bless America (2012).

Expect for release later this year, the movie plot revolves around the average looking American main character Frank. During the start of the trailer, we learn that his life is a pile of total fail. By mental illness or just giving up, he finds himself no longer able to tolerate the stupidity of this world. Reality televisions shows, spoiled brats who need a swift kick in the pants, and general assharty have all become to much of Frank. You and me both brother. Throwing reason to the wind, Frank takes a gun and declares war on the worst of society. Everyone from attitude girly teens, idiots who won't shut up in movies, to even a play of the WBC are lined up in his sights. During his rather bloody travels he finds a friend and accomplice in a 16 year old girl. And she is a firecracker. After taking the time to watch the trailer and not make crazy assumptions based on a still, I learned that unsurprisingly Shirley's tweet is misleading.

  1. Reading over the cast and production crew, nothing screams "this is a Jewish film".
  2. The only thing Jewish I can see in the movie, is a sign saying "God hates Jews".
  3. This is a movie about a mentally ill man who does something we have all secretly wished to do.
  4. In no way does it resemble a "Idot's guide to killing people" or even focuses on the WBC.

Again after actually watching the bleeding trailer, you see this movie is about (for better or for worse) a two person war against all that is stupid. If the WBC wishes to includes themselves in such "stupid", well then so be it. If they wish to take on the label of what is actively wrong with this world (and what the rest of us already knew)... well lace that bitch up and wear it!

Way to nail yourself to a wall there Shirley.  Or should I say #godsmack?

Before I end this, I would like to take a quick moment and address the second tweet you saw above. "Lame. I don't like your words so die".  A rather surprising statement from Rebekah and even retweeted by Shirley. As they say, it is in very poor taste to call  upon death or suffering upon anyone because of different beliefs. While they be labeled as stupid or rude to others, others still may find them acceptable. Ultimately the brain dead teen and reality shows will be forgotten and they really do no harm. I applaud the WBC for supporting such a messag-

... oh.

Ummm.....

....Godsmack #2?

Guess they can't take what they do on a daily bias then.

  1. Anything wrongfully done to the only true church of Christ is like murder! You need to write a formal apology to them and beg Christ for forgiveness. Your whorish ways will only send you right to hell!

    1. The day I am shown that the "prince of peace" Jesus Christ would agree with mass genocide and violence upon his own creation I will consider your request.
