Rambling of a Normal Guy: Student vs Professor, Evolution vs Creationism, Make believe vs reality.

Cthulhu doesn't give two shits about Evolution or Creationism...

Welcome to another addition of ramblings of a normal guy. This is my special column where I go off on wild rants complaining about the things that happen and effect my (and ours) every day life. Because of the excessive amounts of stupidity that will be featured, a large amount of inappropriate language will most likely be used. Also expect a large helping of calling out and "I don't give a crap". Rated M for mature, and read at  your own risk.

For the purpose of this blog little c christian refers to "fake look at me cry" religious people. Christian with a big C refers to people who actually follow Christ.

As anyone who have ever written a blog, drafted newspapers or envisioned novels can tell you, the Muse can be a cruel mistress sometimes. One moment she is with you, dancing with ideas and words, the next she is leaving you cold and alone. Stories, so many and faster than fingers could type, are now replaced with nothing but barren fields, devoid of all life. How can I update this blog, how can I keep it current if nothing comes to me? What shall happen if I never hear the good song of the Muse again? I know the source true, but what good does it do me? When Fred Phelps was excommunicated from the WBC and then finally passed away, the WBC really just doesn't matter anymore. Oh sure, they will try to attention whore still, but honestly, their time has come and pass, it's as if they have all passed away. The source of my ramblings was gone, and so was any ambition to write. But thankfully, I think the spell might have finally been lifted, if only for a time.

And it's all thanks to Facebook.

Rambling of a Normal Guy: No shirt, no shoes, no homosexuals?

Welcome to another addition of ramblings of a normal guy. This is my special column where I go off on wild rants complaining about the things that happen and effect my (and ours) every day life. Because of the excessive amounts of stupidity that will be featured, a large amount of inappropriate language will most likely be used. With constant reminders of how we are in the modern age, how we are so advanced and enlightened, how I live in richest, most powerful and most free nation in the world, I'm getting really fucking sick and tired of stories like this. How can we call ourselves the land of the free when we actively seek to deny human rights to humans? You can't say its "religious rights" when you deny rights to another, even more so when they are the same rights you would raise a bitch fest over. To make a long story short, recently the Kansas House overwhelmingly passed a bill that would allow people and businesses to refuse service based on sexual orientation or marital status if doing so would be contrary to the “sincerely held religious beliefs of the individual. "Religious beliefs" wasn't clarified by the article or by the state Rep, but considering the track record, one can safely assume it means his version of what he calls christian beliefs. Also while I find the whole law insulting on a purely human level, what really stuck out with me was this;

State Rep. Charles Macheers drafted the proposed legislation and argued it would prevent “hurtful” discrimination, claiming the bill would give business owners their right to religious freedom.
“There have been times throughout history where people have been persecuted for their religious beliefs because they were unpopular,” Macheers said. “This bill provides a shield of protection for that.”

Rambling of a Normal Guy: ... and you are crying why?

You've been warned by the way, there will be lots of cursing or/and offensive comments.

I hope you will pardon me if I open this post with a "back in my day" moment. You see, I was born around the same time as the modern internet. That would be AOL 1.0 kids. Having grown up with the internet, I'm no stranger to the activities and questionable things people do there. But as I grow older, I grow more and more concerned by a pattern I am seeing. I watch the younger generation become addicted to twitter, myspace, facebook and more. They put their personal lives on full display then complain when people comment on it. I would think if you want something kept private, you wouldn't put it on a public forum. Same with being left alone. If "something really bad happened, but I don't want to talk about it", then keep it to yourself, not Facebook. It gets even worse when it comes to opinions. To many of the younger (and even older) generations, they are starting to think opinions are the same as fact. They will make a statement, then expect everyone to agree with it, then cry is someone dare speaks against it. With this type of disturbing attitude allowed to fester and grow, they become one of the worse things this world can produce... the attention whore. The attention whore is a pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

  • Is uncomfortable in situations in which he or she is not the center of attention. Will produce videos or make up drama in order to get said attention back.
  • Interaction with others is often characterized by "hey look at me, me me me me me". Any deviation away from them will result in child like tantrums.
  • Will often try to downplay or belittle others then cry, complain and act hurt when their plans do not net them more attention.
  • Will often expect others to do as they want (all the time) because they are the center.
  • Displays rapidly shifting and shallow expression of emotions. Will often use said emotions to play overdone or made up drama for even more attention.
  • Will use physical appearance, attitude, ideology or some form of "religion"  to draw attention to self.
  • Has a style of speech that is excessively impressionistic and lacking in detail. Otherwise known as "Talking a lot but saying nothing."
  • Shows self-dramatization, theatricality, and exaggerated expression of emotion. Will also use other legitimate misfortune or situation to draw attention to themselves.
  • Is suggestible and will often join any social/political/religious group that gives them attention.
  • Considers relationships to be more intimate than they actually are.
  • Will use "selective memory" or completely rewrite the past in order to make themselves appear more than they are.
If you ever worked in customer service, or spent five minutes on Facebook, you know exactly what I am talking about. The one who always posts about "being so fat" but weighs 100lbs soaking wet? The one who overreacts over the simplest things? The one who thinks they can tell others what they can and can not do based on weight ("you can't cos-play, you're fat")? The "this post is about me (when it's not), I'm mad now"? All are examples of such.  So what does this have to do with today's post? Because today, we have a "religious" douchbag who thought it was a great idea to attention whore... then complained about it.

Ramblings of a Pagan Guy: Really Fox? Really? AGAIN!

Over the years, I have found that many a person has this strange idea when it comes to the Pagan faiths. It as if, you know as soon as one converts, they [the pagan] are thrown back to the middles ages. People have this rather quirky notion that pots and pans turn into wands and broomsticks, that tables and chair turning to sacrificial altars and stone circles. At best, many people think that once one devotes themselves to the God and Goddess, reality bleeds away is magically replaced with Hogwarts schools and Weasly like houses. At worse, they believe that our God and Goddess are just whores, or the Christian devil. With this miniblog series, it is my hope to not only document my time growing as a Pagan, but to address these and many more misunderstood concepts so that we will be see as people. We are not the demons some people try to make us out to be.

Special thanks to Jennifer Arend for giving me the heads up. Stay strong and awesome sister!

Back in my day, which is surprisingly not that long ago, journalism meant something. It was a group of people and organizations that worked hard to seek out the truth of a story and report on it. Opinions where kept to talk shows, and fast (actual facts) where presented with out political influence. Sites like policofacts really wasn't needed because reporters where ready to fact check the hell out of everything. But now a days? Not so much. Now a days, we have idiots on NBC (or what ever BC it was) making the absolutely rubbish claims that Normans where nothing more than sex crazed prostitutes. Seriously man, you're not Bill O'reilly, stick to reporting on facts, and facts that can actually be backed up.  (Protip: We know where the moon and waves come from)

So what's the point of today's post? Well, it seems our darling Fox News is up to some silly crap again. Meet me past the break to share my surprise.

Ramblings of a Pagan Guy: Stupid Cliches We Use (2)

Over the years, I have found that many a person has this strange idea when it comes to the Pagan faiths. When I first came up with the idea of this blog, and even this series, a few things quickly came to light. The first, which I'm sure you can guess, is my utter lack of proper spelling and grammar.  Hey this is Amerikca, I can does what I want! Coming in a very close second place, was the realization this would take up a lot of time creating. I can't tell you how many times I had to write, rewrite, disregard and start anew something just because I hated even just a single word or phrase. Even now, I want to stop writing this installment to completely rewrite everything on my blog. Thanks scumbag brain!

As I pressed on, continuing to write about this or that experience, working past personal inadequacy and such, something completely unexpected happened. Just days after posting my first issue, I started receiving emails about my ramblings. This in itself wasn’t all unexpected; in fact you might even say I was awaiting "you're stupid die" emails. So, unsurprisingly, I ignored my email box, unable to bring myself to even look at it. Working in customer service, and having to deal with joyful customers on a daily basis, you can imagine the things I conjured up with. But you know what? My curiosity got the better of me. It's like saying "don't press the big red button"! As I read over them, one by one, I got a feeling I never thought I would get. Email after email was filled with words of encouragement, of stories relating to my own, and of thanks for doing what I did.

How awesome sauce is that?

Ramblings of a Pagan Guy: Really Fox? Really?

Over the years, I have found that many a person has this strange idea when it comes to the Pagan faiths. It as if, you know as soon as one converts, they [the pagan] are thrown back to the middles ages. People have this rather quirky notion that pots and pans turn into wands and broomsticks, that tables and chair turning to sacrificial altars and stone circles. With this miniblog series, it is my hope to not only document my time growing as a Pagan, but to address these and many more misunderstood concepts so that we will be see as people. We are not the demons some people try to make us out to be.

Keeping touch with various liberal and progressive groups on facebook, as well as there respected news sites, I get a lot of stories that make my head hurt. In fact, it's getting to the point where I just want to stop following everything all together. I'm sick of the political undertones, of the opinions being regarded as facts, and anyone with a over sized mouth is automatically right. But until the day when I finally throw up my hands and say to hell with it all, I must press on. After all, being a good red blooded Irish American I can always fancy myself a drink, a love of life, red heads and a good fight.

So we press on.

When the muse hits me and I write my ramblings for what ever reason, I try to be direct and least insulting as possible, especially when it comes to religion. While having a go with the "elect" members of the WBC, I must know and remember they do not represent all of the followers of Christ. Just like pedophiles, "holy" murders and so on. The moment I forget myself and this, I become no better than them. Do I slip up from time to time? Sure I am only human after all, and to claim perfection on my part would just be stupid. But like I said, I know who the good ones are, who the bads ones are, and never willingly apply the few to the whole.

But you know what really pisses me off? Like "Omg I just my hot topic membership card, I am so Wiccan now." piss me off? When we have grown adults, who are responsible and portray "fair and balanced" aura on national TV, resemble nothing more than a pack of immature children in order to obtain ratings and attention. Honestly if all you are after is cash, then please refrain from calling yourself fair and balanced reporters of the news. But what the hell am I talking about? On February 15th, Fox and Friends aired what contained one the biggest demonstration of ignorance I have seen this year. Not only do the openly mock another faith, my faith, while whining about being persecuted, they do with mirth seen at good times with friends. How professional of them...

The whole thing was so horribly wrong and painful to watch, that I'm not even sure I'll get to it all in this posting... but I shall try me best.

Ramblings of a Pagan Guy: Stupid Cliches we use

Over the years, I have found that many a person has this strange idea when it comes to the Pagan faiths. People have this rather quirky notion that pots and pans turn into wands and broomsticks, that tables and chair turning to sacrificial altars and stone circles. We are not the demons some people try to make us out to be.

When I somehow manage to get myself out of bed, which usually involves an unnecessary amount of screaming and cursing, I liked to start my day out with a little ritual. I enjoy some lemon aid, more toast than anyone should eat, and a nice helping of thinkprogress for my news. While every news program, website and blog has a agenda and bias of some sort, I find that thinkprogress at least makes it tolerable for a bit. While I was scanning the numerous stories of how Mitt Rommy managed to screw yet another thing up, and even more numerous comments on it, I found a random link to "10 Cliches Christian's should never use". Written and later expanded upon by Christian Piatt, it gave some interesting insight to how some "religious" sayings can just be mean, or down right insulting. From the first paragraph I knew it was going to be good;

"We Christians have a remarkable talent for sticking our feet in our mouths. When searching the words most commonly associated with “Christian,” the list ain’t pretty. I think part of this can be attributed to a handful of phrases that, if stricken from our vocabulary, might make us a little more tolerable. Yes, these things may mean something to you, but trust me, non-Christians don’t share your love for these tried-and-true cliches."
If you are interested here is part one and part two.

Religious Nuts Exposed: Predictions about Obama

The Westboro Baptist Church (or WBC) is an Independent Baptist “church” known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, other religions, and anything else that tickles their fancy. They are also known for their greatly offensive protest activities against fallen service men/woman and high profile aka popular people. In this special section created for the WBC Cult Exposed we will explore their hateful and distorted “divine” teachings and expose them for what they truly are, a hate group who uses religion for personal power.

By the Earth Mother, how long has it been since I last sat down and wrote one of these? Must have been at least a couple of months, at the very least. Maybe it's been work that has been keeping me away? Work has been killer with the amount of hours I needed to put into it, many of them off the clock. This or that has been breaking down will this person or that has been causing more problems then good. Maybe it's been my personal life; no never mind I don't have one. Maybe it's just that the WBC really hasn't done anything worth writing about? Sure they still protest funeral and blow more hot air than a balloon, but what's new? They have been doing the same tired crap now for years and it's getting easier and easier to tune out. The WBC just isn't that important anymore. However this coming week changed everything, what is it you wonder? Was it some photoshopped protest? Saying the 1st amendment had holes in it... in Canada? Claiming to be in the UK when they are banned from the country? No, it's something even better!

ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!
I for one, welcome our furry overlords...
They warned us you know, they really did...

How WBC Fails: The complete collection Vol 1

The Westboro Baptist Church (or WBC) is an Independent Baptist “church” known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, other religions, and anything else that tickles their fancy. They are also known for their greatly offensive protest activities against fallen service men/woman and high profile aka popular people. In this special section created for the WBC Cult Exposed we will explore their hateful and distorted “divine” teachings and expose them for what they truly are, a hate group who uses religion for personal power.

Blogging:

Not to long ago, this little blogger issued a contest of shorts to the folks of the Westboro Baptist Church. If you are blissfully unaware of what these things… er people are, then you are one lucky person
While spending my off hours trolling the WBC (can it be considered trolling?), the email for the cult was posted on their twitter account. AWESOME! I thought, I could pose my Q&A again without the need to shorten it. Well I got an email back, and not surprisingly it's something I would expect from a second grader.
I was once asked why I even bother with the crazies, and here is why.
Who knew? The most hated family in America also fails at blogging. SHOCKING!
 Interviews and Tv Spots:
Nathan "Nate" Phelps (born November 1958) is an author, speaker on religion and child abuse, and an LGBT advocate.  The seventh child of Pastor Fred Phelps, Phelps has been estranged from the majority of his family since his 18th birthday. Phelps has since declared himself an atheist. He is known for his open criticism of the Westboro Baptist Church through literature, interviews, public speaking at atheist conventions and his website. He states that his father abused him and the other Phelps children and believes that the church is an organization for his father to "vent his rage and anger." Today I am now happy to present part one of the email Q&A I had with Nate Phelps, otherwise known as the No H8 Phelps.
Our words are also not free floating, easily said then quickly forgotten. Our words can linger on in people and thought, or even echo forever in the ages. Like what is said about the internet, once you say something it is more than likely recorded somewhere. Today’s edition deals with language in a much different way than the previous “God H8’s” series. In such previous titles we explored how their main message of each video was hateful and… well crap. In today’s edition I want to return to their previous video and twitter postings to explore the items we might have missed. You know, the little things they let slip that gives hint to just how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Shirley, along with other female members of her "church", preached about a Jewish video that taught America's how to murder the WBC. While many, myself included, would call their religious and political views extreme, making a movie for the purposes of "Idiot's Guide to killing WBC"... is a bit much. I was also curious that it was Jewish in nature. You would think a people who have suffered A LOT would turn their nose to such actions. The video in question is the trailer for a new fictional movie is called  God Bless America (2012).  A how to guide for killing the WBC? Wut?!?

Videos - God H8's series

  1. People should be accepted for who they are.
  2. He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

  5. God gave man free will.
  6. God does not hate.
  7. God loves everybody.
  8. Hell's not a real place, it’s a state of mind
  9. I’ll Pray for you
  10. The Bible is subject to interpretation
  11. Jews didn't kill Jesus - He was a Jew
  12. For God so loved the world

Religious Nuts Exposed: Didja really just say that?

The Westboro Baptist Church (or WBC) is an Independent Baptist “church” known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, other religions, and anything else that tickles their fancy. From the very birth of our world, the very first time spoken by woman or man; when the first words were uttered, the ability to communicate became an important part of our lives. For the use of religions rites, for the deepest explorations of science, to every day use with friends and family, these words drive our world forward like nothing could or ever will. Without communication, without these words of language, we would never have formed communities, (arguable) grew as a civilization nor have really cool things like video games and the internet.  Love, laughter, friendship, and virtually every emotion we feel as human beings can be inspired by words. Unfortunately all the bad stuff like fear, anger, and hatred, can also be invoked by our words. Leave it to humans to screw something up >_> Our words are also not free floating, easily said then quickly forgotten. Our words can linger on in people and thought, or even echo forever in the ages. Like what is said about the internet, once you say something it is more than likely recorded somewhere. Rambling of a Working Guy: Working with People (2)

No matter what field of work you are in, be it in the office building, a stall at the local mall, Best Buy or Walmart, even a game room with hordes of children or street corner doing… whatever it is you do, there is always that one thing that pisses us all off. The customer, source of all evil (and income) for our way of life. From pure idiotic actions and sayings you wonder how they continue to reproduce. Ramblings of a Working Guy talks about the various "joyful" events these idiots give us.

During this festive time of year, we are suppose to inspire and spread cheer, good will, and peace to all. What actually happens is declaring all out war with anyone. Sad really. I mean just look around you, you have malls crowded with hoards of rampaging gits ready to spill blood for some stupid toy, you have people (really really) pounding down doors to get into stores, you have this silly "The war on Christmas". Not to mention the people who just enjoy complaining and causing drama. So in the spirit of this "festive" time, I thought I go about listing the common complaints we retail workers have to deal with every single year.

How WBC fails: God H8's 19/19

The Westboro Baptist Church (or WBC) is an Independent Baptist “church” known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, other religions, and anything else that tickles their fancy. They are also known for their greatly offensive protest activities against fallen service men/woman and high profile aka popular people. In this special section, we will explore their hateful and distorted “divine” teachings and expose them for what they truly are, a hate group who uses religion for personal power.

Part: 19/19
Name: Accept Jesus as your personal savior- Pt 19 WBC's GOD H8S vid
Link:  http://www.twitvid.com/UWO1T
Update: Videos have been removed. Blog now shows video of all of them combined.
Bible Verse use:
John 6:44: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day."

And so here we are...

With the final movie of the god h8's series now under review,  this blogger finds himself recalling the past and how much it has effected him. All I need now is some prune juice, a rocking chair and some kids to tell "back in my day"... When I look back at all the traveling I have done, all the people I have met because of joining the anti-wbc movement, I see how this endeavor has allowed me to see so much more than the sheltered child of my youth could. I have always said how there is a HUGE difference between saying and actually being part of a religion, but to see it first hand. It's can be a beautiful and wonderful thing at times or like in the case of our cult, perverted to be a horrid disgusting thing. I have seen how belief and faith are what truly makes a person, not just saying the religion they follow. I have seen that while life does get better, victory can not be claimed just yet. Hate, discrimination, deceit and just not giving a damn still have a iron hold. So much so that no single event will ever change it. Remember back a little under four years ago, when the presidential elections where taking place? For the first time in... well ever, a black man was running for the highest office in the land. Not only was he running, but with a amazing use of his well devolved public speaking skills he actually won! For many, this seemingly impossible election heralded the end of racial hate. It was thought that with the election of this single man the long history of inequality would finally close. >_> The whole race card thing would become a thing of the past, and things like "you're black" and "you're white" would be replaced with "you're human" Yea right, this is humanity we are talking about! Despite all the feel good mojo we had floating around, the worse still pollutes it. Violence and misdeeds committed against people because of bullshit excuse of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation remains a serious problem in America.

Update: Videos have been removed. Blog now shows video of all of them combined.
Bible Verse use:
Rom 1:21: For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Isa 48:11: For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.
Isa 45:12,18: It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts. For this is what the LORD says--he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited--he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
John 8:44: You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Psalm 76:10: Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.
Amos 3:6: When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?

Anyone else love how the video opens with "God hates idols" and her admiring herself in the mirror?

Perhaps ignorance really is bliss? When you (claim) not to know, or willing fool yourself, it seems the sky’s the limit! No one can judge you, no one can make the foolish claim of being better than you. HA! Simpletons! I’m kinda surprised the WBC doesn’t have that as a sign yet…When you are ignorant to the fact that you are doing ill, when you mistaking believe the world revolves around you, how could you possibility do anything wrong? After all what’s the point of following the evil vile laws of "imperfect humanity" when god himself has giving you a personal “you are elect do what ever you want” card! I wonder if the various family members of the cult are even capable of rational thinking any more. Of course when you consider how excited they where over the 9/11 event, I think we may have our answer. In today's video, we have host Rachel Mii attempt to persuade the viewers that god is the source of all happenings in the world. This would included the fact that every “disaster” is punishment from god because of what ever the WBC happens to be protesting at the time. They are still on gay people right? Or is it 7/11 and wawa now? Much like the previous installments of their God H8’s series, they do little to hide their ignorance and egotistic attitude.

The fact is they are right, and you are wrong, and there is jack shit you can do about it. Just like last time, and times before that, I will show you just how wrong they are.

Bible Verse use:
Mk 9:43: And if thy hand offends thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched..
Rom 9:13: As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated
(Which has already been shown to be a translation error)

And so the lady of Summer took her leave to rest,
In her place the Man of snow and ice came.
He would blanket the lands in both frost and cold,
Till the earth was ready to wake once more.

Me too little buddy, me too.

Have you noticed the change in weather recently*1? From a bloated nose to dragged out kicking and screaming headaches, you bet I sure have. Nothing beats doing paper work with a 12 on the earthquake scale headache. /sigh If at any point you where wondering what happened to me on here and on twitter, well now you know. That and a shit ton of work kinda knocked at my door... Have to pay the bills right? But enough about me, and I'm not really in the mood for a long opening, let's get to this video! Today’s video from the ever loud mouthed cult of hate is entitled “God loves the sinner, hates the sin”.The idea of God loving the person but highly displeased with the sin comes from two different sources, one being the bible the other a saint of God.

Bible Verse use:
Lev 19:17-18: Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Video had to be switched, other one taken down.

I embed the above video (don’t worry, I’ll still have some cat pics somewhere in here) today because I think it speaks a lot to my discontent and sheer disgust of this WBC video, and well the cult in general. We have so many problems in the world; more than one person can ever fix, is it not time we come together as a whole and address these problems? Shouldn’t we abandon silly notions of skin color, sexual preference and even religious prodigious to work together to better the world we live in? I mean we only get one, it’s not like we can all move to Mars after trashing this place. Love can and will find a way, but only if we give it a chance!  Look at these kids, all of them from different backgrounds; you think they care what the color of a person’s skin is? What their faith is? If they are gay or straight? These kids are suffering from serious illness, and they still create something so ... glorious! How frigging amazing is that?!?! They create a beautiful world by light and shadow, and I am not ashamed to admit it brings a tear to my eye. The shear beauty, the... damn I could go on and on about them. But regrettably this little musing isn't about them, its about... not so happy things. Back at the WBC, spewing hate, purposely causing pain for some fucked up ego? Disgusting! This will not help our future, this won’t help anyone! It’s horrid, its- sorry, I seem to be going off on a rant here…

Even cats know about the WBC

At the time of this written, it has been a little over five months since I started the rebuking and discrediting of the cult. In these five months I have studied and researched them, I learned more and more about what goes on in their collective heads. I have also read more of the bible than I ever thought I would. From Youtube videos (both from and about them), to published articles and twitter, I have learned much about these people and the patterns they have. One common theme of theirs is using a variety of selective (and often out of context) bible verses to support more hate than any one person should have. Ffrom protesting dead people, to labeling groups as “horrid evil sinners that will destroy the world”, these people have pushed the limits as to what it means to hate. Today’s video, “God don’t make no junk, we are all God’s children” has them again explain to us how God does indeed make junk to burn in hell. He does this with a series of bible verses….

Bible Verse use:
John 3:16: Honestly if you don’t know what this is by now, watch a frigging baseball game.
John 3:18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Imagine if you will, the last time you where at a baseball game*1. One (or both) of your parent’s took you for your birthday, maybe even for some family times. You’re tailgating with your best long time friends, kicking back a few beers and having some laughs. This, my readers, is the bloody life*2. While waiting for your favorite team to totally school the other idiot loser and super lame team, or maybe even during break, you may have glanced over the ballpark, just to pass the time. Or maybe instead, you are at home with your buddies, having some beer and BBQ? Gods I really want ribs now… You have the big game on, and at some point the camera guy does a sweep of the crowd. DO THE WAVE! Either way, you will eventually see some guy with a poster board, and on it, the subject of today’s rebuking and WBC drama.

The poor thing saw the face of the WBC

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

What he said: "If you just read the words..."
When I fist began writing this little rebuking (really I was just planning on like two pages), I had my laptop beside me with about twenty different tabs open on various explanations of the above verse. The first few tabs pertained to hundred plus page essays on various meanings and assumptions of the above verse.  Others where analysis’s of every word and phrase to find the hidden secret message of the verse. It was like some bible code crap was going on here. The remaining where frigging analysis’s of analysis’s. After hitting the three day mark of reading this and that, I threw up my hands and said “to hell with it”. Seriously why would such effort, time, and research be needed for such a simple verse? Hell even this pagan understands it just fine!

Let’s break this down, shall we?

Bible Verse use:
Thes. 2:14-15: For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men
Acts 3:12-15: And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

Matt. 27:22-25: Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Bible Verse use:
2 Pet. 1:20:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

So here we are big number ten.

Hitting this half way mark, I found my self reflecting on the time spent on this so far. I also found myself returning to previous entries to clean them up a bit. Which I do hope many of my readers will forgive me, in my haste to disprove such cults, I sometimes (often) find my spelling and grammar lacking. While I am still not not Catholic nor do I have any wish to be, I still appreciate the learning experience it has been for me. Learning the true message of the man Jesus, learning just how meanings of various words and phrases can change over the decades, and even learning a bit of Hebrew along the way! Perhaps you can remember with me quickly how, in past editions, I have wrote at length (and burning eyes ugh!) on how this or that translation could not only destroy the flow of a verse, but also cause a great amount of confusion. A very good and often sighted example of this is how the WBC used Jer 17:9 to show the hearts of humans are evil 24/7 365. If we used the same translation or interpretation for the rest of the bible, well Jesus turns into an evil most foul. Yea…Today’s video is somehow fitting for our half way mark. In today's review/rebuking; we have WBC cult member Fred Jr inform us that the bible is NOT subject to interpretation. That everything writing in the bible is the firm word of law of their god that can not be ignored, negotiated, or revised. As a not so hidden side message, the WBC also try to prove with this video is that everything they have said to date (and will continue to say) is also the world of law.

Bible verses mentioned:
Psalm 109:7: When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
James 5:16: Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Hipster kitteh also thinks the WBC is insane

  • Self Importance.
    • Excessively (and often unwarranted) high regard for one's own importance or station; conceit.

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
